What is a Digital Signature Certificate?

DSC is an electronic form of signature for filing on MCA, Income Tax, GST and other government portals. Legally equivalent to handwritten signature.

Types of DSC

  • Class 2 DSC: GST registration, income tax filing
  • Class 3 DSC: Company registration, MCA filing, e-tendering
  • DGFT DSC: Import-export code and customs filing

DSC Cost

  • Class 2 DSC (2 years): Rs.800 to Rs.1,500
  • Class 3 DSC (2 years): Rs.1,500 to Rs.3,000

Documents Required

  • PAN card, Aadhaar card, passport photo, video verification

Validity

DSC is valid for 1 or 2 years. Stored on USB token device. Renewal required before expiry.
